HIGH-R Introduces Wide Range of Energy Efficiency Solutions Choices Reflect Diverse Uses and Insulating Needs for Metal Buildings

AMES, Iowa – Owners of metal buildings now have access to a complete portfolio of HIGH-R ceiling and wall insulation system alternatives to meet wide-ranging aesthetic, budgetary and energy efficiency goals.

“HIGH-R is responding to customer demands for diverse insulating solutions for metal buildings that account for a wide range of building uses and energy efficiency requirements,” says Tanner Kinzler, vice president. “Whether the building includes a retail store, warehouse, or both, we can address the customer’s needs. And we also install these systems anywhere in the U.S.”

The HIGH-R Panel Insulation System is the state of the art in wall and ceiling insulation for metal buildings. The system features rigid panels that are attached to purlins with specially designed clips that are exclusive to HIGH-R. The cavity between the purlins and building shell then is filled with approved blown fiberglass insulation. Depending upon the height of the cavity, the HIGH-R Panel System can deliver up to an R-42 insulation value. It also has a bright, high-end, washable finish that is approved by the Food and Drug Administration for installation in food manufacturing facilities.

“The HIGH-R Banded System offers a solution for buildings where aesthetics are less important or where conventional suspended or dry wall ceilings or walls are planned. Sheeting is installed between parallel metal bands that are attached to the purlins. Like the panel system, insulation is blown into the cavity above, providing up to R-30 insulating value.

HIGH-R also offers two cost-efficient systems for non climate-controlled spaces such as warehouses.

The HIGH-R Radiant System is a quick-to-install solution that provides up to an R-15 thermal barrier — up to three times the insulating value of pinched
blanket batt insulation.

The HIGH-R Reflective Solution works well in warm climates to limit exterior heat from penetrating the building. It provides twice the R value of pinched blanket insulation and can be installed quickly and inexpensively.

“Each HIGH-R Insulation solution can pay for itself within months by lowering the energy requirements for metal buildings,” adds Kinzler. “The energy savings offers building developers a competitive advantage because they can assure buyers or tenants that they can count on low building operating expenses.”
